Mask Wearing Requirements for all Nicklaus Children's Facilitites
As of August 1, 2023, masks are required only in certain circumstances. Examples include persons exhibiting signs or symptoms of an infectious disease, in areas of the facility that are designated sterile, or if the applicable person will be around an immunocompromised patient. This policy applies to all Nicklaus Children's staff members, patients, and visitors two years of age and older.
Non-Opioid Pain Management
As a pediatric specialty hospital, Nicklaus Children’s offers an array of non-opioid pain reduction methods tailored for children. Proven methods of reducing pain used within the hospital include over-the-counter pain medications as well as the following techniques: Appropriate use of cold and heat, dietary management, play distraction, sleep, music therapy, relaxation and breathing techniques, guided imagery and more.
